Our Creator

Hello, and thanks for taking the time to check out my Inspirational Music!  The music on this page represents my mellow side.  I’ve got lots more music I’ve written, and I’m working on recording.  Keep in mind, this is just me & Garage Band!  Below is a little explanation of each song.  I hope you enjoy!  And please let me know if I can be of any service to you!

What If

This song was commissioned by Rev. John Dorhauer, Southwest Conference Minister of the United Church of Christ for their 2009 Conference in Scottsdale.  The theme for the conference was finding your place at God’s table, and that all were welcome.  I really struggled with this concept, as I had so many songs playing in my mind from my past experience as a music director.  I felt called to go in a different direction.  Then one day, I got this image of God’s table being this earth, and the feast being life, and the whole song played out for me.  It was magical!  Again, a rough recording from my home.....

Gather Me Lord

This one is self-explanitory.  We all have moments when we feel like this!

Love Sings

This song was inspired by the interview with Mother Theresa.  She was asked what she said when she prayed.  She said that she said nothing, she listened.  When asked what she heard God say, she said God says nothing, God listens...

Dear Old Friend

I intended this song to be used for meditation.  I wrote this about the “silence” we encounter during meditation.  At first it was terribly uncomfortable to me.  After much practice, it became more like a “Dear Old Friend”.

The Choice Is Mine

This song was inspired by Rev. John Dorhauer’s thoughts on free will.

Understanding, Love and Peace

I wrote this for a group of people who walked across the country to promote understanding, love, and peace.

I Am Always With You

OK, this one is really sad.  I was unable to sleep one night, and ended up on a TV channel that was advertising for an agency that helps children in third world countries.  They kept showing heartbreaking pictures of children who were sick, poor, neglected, crying........I cried and cried.  I had this overwhelming desire to leave everything and just go hold them, one at a time, and sing them this song that started playing in my head.  It was like there was a voice that wanted to let them know they are not alone.  Maybe it was just my own...

By Your Grace

This is about my interpretation of divine grace.  It is a prayer to be sung.

Like A Child

I wrote this song for a service we did at SCUCC about reconnecting with our inner child.  Having two children of my own, I was inspired by their ability to love themselves.  Why do we loose this?

Our Creator

After years of being in churches that are now trying to use what they call inclusive language, this variation of THE LORD’S PRAYER started playing in my head.  I tried to turn it off, as I was sure the change of wording would be considered inappropriate.  However, it kept playing, and playing, and playing.  After quite awhile I gave in and wrote it down.  We did this at SCUCC, for the closing of every service.  It was amazing to me how people responded to the words.

You Made Us One

This song is about the barriers that divide us.  I think they are man made.  And personally, I’m done with them.  This song is about reaching across barriers and finding common ground.

You Amaze Me

This is a song for those who have inspired us.........

Home

When my pastor returned from her mother’s funeral, she did a service to honor her mother and all loved ones who have passed.  I’ve lost my Dad, so I felt particularly moved.  I wrote this song for that service, and it’s one of my favorites!

Hosanna

I felt the need for a new Hosanna song for Palm Sunday.  Fortunately, my needs were met with this song!  It was so fun, and the whole congregation was on fire singing this song.  It sounds much better with a real band, so use your imagination.

Love Sings

What If

There Is Love

I wrote this song with the entire school body of Desert Shadows Elementary School in Scottsdale, AZ.  I was their Artist in Action for the day.  What fun!
